This event is an annual gathering for those who are called upon to help when disaster strikes. Whether you are helping to prepare for, respond to, or recovery from disaster events in your community and beyond the Iowa Disaster Human Resources Council invites you to attend. Generally, the audience is comprised of faith-based and community organizations active in disasters, long-term recovery committee members, individuals who assist with disaster case management, emotional and spiritual care, and a myriad of other activities to assist families, emergency management personnel, and state and federal partners.
Don Hampton Service Award
The IDHRC recognizes outstanding Iowans who have responded in times of disaster to provide aid to their fellow citizens. Don Hampton was a founding member of the IDHRC, an avid volunteer helping countless families recover from disasters, a champion for the disaster response and recovery community. Don portrayed selfless dedication while serving those in need throughout our state. This award celebrates others who strive to be champions in times of disaster.
