About the Iowa Disaster Human Resource Council

The IDHRC is an umbrella organization bringing together faith-based, voluntary, private and government organizations active in disaster services. As Iowa's State VOAD and an affiliate of the National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster, we coordinate comprehensive disaster response and recovery efforts.

The Iowa Disaster Human Resource Council consists of 70+ member organizations united in a mission to coordinate a holistic approach to disaster recovery. We maximize public and private resources to create an efficient system that addresses the immediate and long-term physical, spiritual, and emotional needs of impacted citizens. Our purpose is to foster a more effective response and recovery for the people of Iowa during times of disaster by bringing together diverse organizations with shared values of service and compassion.
